OUR VISION

At the heart of Menaa is a desire to empower the young men and woman of Uganda. Through practical skills in fish farming and agriculture we aim to train and equip people to provide for their families and walk in the freedom of Jesus. By giving them opportunity to sustain their lives with new ways of living, the people of Uganda can be free from poverty and shame.

WHO WE ARE

Menaa Uganda is a non profit Community Based Organization (CBO) registered in Entebbe, Uganda. The founder members are Rob and Christine McFarlane who relocated to Uganda from Newport, South Wales in 2021.

Rob and Christine are followers of Jesus Christ with a desire to impact lives with His love by using the gifts that God has invested in them.

WHAT WE ARE DOING

Rob has many years experience in landscape work, plant nursery and high density tank fish farming. He has been training young men and women in farming using the Farming Gods Way curriculum which teaches sustainable agriculture using biblical principles. He has also built a complete above ground fish farm using locally available resources. The objective is to demonstrate that catfish can be bred and grown in tanks and sold in the local market. Through reproducing this concept it will be a means to equip people living in the Ugandan communities with an income and sustainable livelihood for their families.

Christine, an experienced physiotherapist for special needs children, is working in communities where Ugandan children with disabilities are often misunderstood, considered a curse, and are at risk of being abandoned. Mothers that choose to keep their babies when they have been diagnosed with a long term condition risk losing family support and end up caring for them completely on their own. Christine is working in local government hospitals and children's homes to reach families that need support, raise awareness and offer practical physiotherapy training for mothers and local carers.
